SL 218 SA is a self-powered subwoofer with remote monitoring, fully developed by the engineering team of WORK PRO at the headquarters in Valencia (Spain). It features two 18'' loudspeakers, in a bass reflex enclosure.
SL 218 SA features a powerful digital signal processing, which provides the filtering and the necessary corrections to the transducers in order to obtain a faithful sound. Both from the monitoring software, via Ethernet, and from the keyboard and screen on the rear side, the preset to be used can be chosen. Two low pass crossover frequencies are available with or without enhancement at 55Hz, and their corresponding presets for 1 to 1 cardioid settings (one forward, one backward) or 2 to 1 cardioid settings (two forward, one backward). You can also add delay and use up to 8 parametric filters for room corrections.
The power is provided by one Class D amplifier, 4000W peak, which incorporates thermal and overload protections and universal switched power supply. The protection of the transducers is provided by the DSP, with RMS and peak limiters.
The enclosure of the SL 218 SA is made of birch plywood of 15mm and finished in black paint ISO-Flex, and has two handles on each side adequately sized for a comfortable and secure grip. The connectors, the keyboard and the high visibility LED screen are on the back, easily accessible while protected from being accidentally hit.
A 2mm thick perforated steel grille protects the transducers from occasional shocks during transport and normal use of the equipment. The grille is covered by a scratch-resistant fabric. In addition, it protects from water, it is aesthetic and acoustically transparent.
